COACH

Pat Young is a Trenton, New Jersey native where he attended Christ Church School. While playing at the University of Maryland, Young was a 2x First Team All-American and the 2013 America East Conference Rookie of the Year. Young enjoys playing basketball, soccer, creative writing, cooking and dancing. Young started one game for Atlas LC during the 2019 season.

As a Senior (2016): Transferred to Maryland prior to start of 2016 season … appeared in all 20 games on the second midfield line … totaled 21 points on 15 goals and six assists … scored 100th goal of career against Syracuse (5/21) … made Maryland debut against High Point (2/20) … had an assist and a ground ball vs. #1 Notre Dame (3/5) … scored first two goals in a Maryland uniform at Drexel (3/8) … totaled four points (2G, 2A) in homecoming at Princeton (3/12) … scored a goal at Penn (3/29) … had a goal and an assist vs. #18 Rutgers (4/16) … scored a goal vs. Ohio State (4/24) … had two goals and an assist in Big Ten Tournament semifinal win vs. #18 Penn State (5/5) … scored a goal in Big Ten Tournament final win vs. #17 Rutgers (5/7) … scored the eventual game-winner in NCAA 1st Round vs. Quinnipiac (5/15) … scored season-high four goals in NCAA Quarterfinals vs. #4 Syracuse (5/21) … had an assist in NCAA Semis vs. #5 Brown (5/28).

As a Junior at UMBC (2015): Started 12 games, totaling 29 points on 21 goals and eight assists … opened the season with two goals at Johns Hopkins (2/7) … posted two goals and an assist at Penn (2/14) … had three points on two goals and an assist at Richmond (2/28) … had a season-high four assists in addition to a goal against Towson (3/7) … dished an assist against Binghamton (2/14) … scored a goal at Stony Brook (3/21) … notched a pair of goals at Mount St. Mary’s (3/24) … notched a career-high in points (6) and matched career-high in goals (5) against Lafayette (3/27) … scored a goal at Hartford (4/4) … had two goals and an assist against Vermont (4/11) … notched a hat trick in season finale at Albany (4/25).

As a Sophomore at UMBC (2014): Finished second on the squad with 33 goals and 43 points … scored 65 goals in his first two seasons – most for any Retriever in the NCAA DI (1981) era … tied teammates Matt Gregoire and Nate Lewnes with 15 goals (3.0 pg) in five league games, the second-best figure in the conference … scored four goals and added a helper on a big stage in March 8 contest versus Johns Hopkins … tallied five points with three goals and two helpers at High Point … buried an outside shot with 9.6 seconds remaining in the first overtime period as the Retrievers edged Stony Brook, 12-11, in the America East opening game … netted a career-high five goals in an AE victory over Hartford … scored four of five goals in the fourth quarter as UMBC held off a Hawk rally … posted hat tricks in both AE Tournament games and now has 10 career games with three or more goals scored.

As a Freshman at UMBC (2013): Produced 18 points (14-4-8) in league regular season play and was the leading freshman scorer in conference games, with 3.60 points per game- good for seventh on the complete list … scored in 14 of 15 games and recorded multiple points in 13 of 15 … n his first seven games, scored two goals in contests versus Robert Morris, Loyola, Johns Hopkins and High Point … recorded his first career hat trick vs. Towson on March 19 and recorded five-point games at Hartford (4-1-5) and vs. Vermont (2-3-5) … his team-high 31 goals (tied with Jones) is the most scored by a UMBC freshman since Cayle Ratcliffe tallied 42 times in 2007 and is the third-most by a UMBC Division I freshman.

Prep: A dominant prep player in the state of Virginia for the Christchurch School … scored nearly 300 points and amassed over 300 ground balls in that span … earned all-america and all-state honors … represented his native New Jersey in Under Armour Underclassmen All-America game in the summer of 2011 … selected as one of the top-10 prep midfielders in the nation by ESPN Rise … guided his team to back-to-back state titles in lacrosse and was a member of the state championship team on the gridiron … tabbed Offensive Player of the Year by the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association.

Personal: A Dean’s List student in all three years at Christchurch … older brother, Tamai, competed in football at Villanova … also has a younger brother, Zachery … lists favorite movie as Remember the Titans … son of Majorie and Peter Young.

Nation United is a minority owned and operated organizaion dedicated to increasing diversity in sports through elite level competition, team building, and community service.

All players are selected by Nation United staff via our application portal, or in person evaluation at one of our camps or yearly Summit.

No.  We are always reviewing applicants.

Yes.  We handle requests on an individual basis.

YES!  We actually encourage you to continue playing with your current club team. 

We have an incredible staff of coaches with experience at all levels, from Youth through professional.  Although we like the continuity of keeping our coaches with specific teams it is not always possible.

Our teams do not practice regularly. We will typically schedule a practice the day before any competitive event.

Our  fees change based on the following: travel of various events, coaching staff and number of players invited.
