DIRECTOR & COACH

Coach Artie Spruill-West grew up in the Baltimore County area, playing lacrosse at the age of 7 and continued her lacrosse experience playing at Loch Raven High School in Baltimore, MD.  While at Loch Raven, she led her team to a county championship, and three regional championships.  As a senior, Spruill was team captain and lead her team to the state championship game.  Spruill was a senior All-Star as well as on the All County team in Baltimore County.  In high school Coach Artie helped her high school team get to a state championship for soccer, two county championships and numerous regional finals.  Spruill currently holds an indoor track record at her high school as well as being a three time state finalist in multiple track events as well as winning All County, All Metro awards. 

Spruill committed to Howard University to play lacrosse on a Division I scholarship and then she transferred to Towson University where she would finish out her collegiate career.  While on the Towson University lacrosse team Spruill played defense and won three CAA Championships and went to the 1st round in the NCAA National Tournament rounds.

During college and after, Spruill volunteered her time as a lacrosse coach at the Bridge Play day for US Lacrosse.  In 2008, she became the co-director of the event.  After finishing up her collegiate career, Spruill went on to coaching.  In 2008 she stated a nonprofit lacrosse team called Coast 2 Coast that was formed to help African American girls in Baltimore City become better lacrosse players.  She formed the team to expose these girls to the game of lacrosse at all levels.  

Also in 2008, Spruill started a varsity high school team at St. Francis Academy in Baltimore, MD who competed in the IAAM Conference. Spruill has helped run the youth girls division for Baltimore City Gators Lacrosse program which plays in the MYLA.  In 2009, she became a lacrosse official for BBOWS.  In 2010, Spruill took on the role to become the head coach at Towson High School. Spruill coached the JV team, leading them to a 9-1 season with a trip to the County Championships.  Coach Spruill is a certified Level 1 Coach through US Lacrosse Coaching Program.

Nation United is a minority owned and operated organizaion dedicated to increasing diversity in sports through elite level competition, team building, and community service.

All players are selected by Nation United staff via our application portal, or in person evaluation at one of our camps or yearly Summit.

No.  We are always reviewing applicants.

Yes.  We handle requests on an individual basis.

YES!  We actually encourage you to continue playing with your current club team. 

We have an incredible staff of coaches with experience at all levels, from Youth through professional.  Although we like the continuity of keeping our coaches with specific teams it is not always possible.

Our teams do not practice regularly. We will typically schedule a practice the day before any competitive event.

Our  fees change based on the following: travel of various events, coaching staff and number of players invited.
