Dr. Jonathan Jenkins

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

Dr. Jonathan Jenkins received his BS in Health Sciences & Psychology from Guilford College. He obtained his Masters and Doctoral degrees in clinical psychology at the University of Denver Graduate School of Professional Psychology where he specialized in multicultural psychology and pediatric neurodevelopment. During his clinical education, he received additional training in neuropsychological testing and psychotherapy for both adults and children impacted by cognitive and developmental challenges such as autism. He completed his predoctoral internship at Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School where he administered both psychotherapy and psychological testing to adults and children.

Dr. Jenkins continued his clinical training with an autism-focused postdoctoral fellowship at The Help Group in Sherman Oaks, California. While working at The Help Group, Dr. Jenkins conducted neuropsychological assessments of youth impacted by developmental and cognitive challenges, provided school-based psychotherapy, participated in Individual Educational Plan (IEP) meetings, and led psycho-educational trainings and seminars. Dr. Jenkins recently authored a children’s narrative entitled Wednesday Afternoons with Dr. J., which serves as a whimsical illustrated narrative that helps to explain psychotherapy to children and reduce the stigma of seeking mental health treatment amongst youth. In addition to his clinical responsibilities at the Life Changes Group, Dr. Jenkins holds the title of Assistant in Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital where he is an outpatient child/adolescent psychologist and a member of the Harvard Medical School teaching community at the hospital. His professional interests include cognitive behavioral therapy, autism, sexual identity development, racial identity development, neuropsychological and psychosocial testing.
